I GOT CHOKED UP ON A SATURDAY

Yesterday, July 18th, will fill my journal of some unforgettable entries- the most was waking up at 3:00 am, picked up the VP of Oshawa's oldest Filipino organization and head to Heydenshore Park in Whitby. We needed to secure a shade for the  annual picnic. The mosquitoes were stabbing us all over. They got full tummy long before we even have breakfast.

I left closed to 8am when the other Officers came for their shifts. I got home to think about the evening rehearsal for the concert this Friday, July 24th. At noon, we came back to the park for our lunch. It was full with so many people and the turn out was really significant. Of course, snap here and there for the DFCS FB group page. We left again to take a much needed rest. I was wearing dark glasses because if I don't I'd look like a panda.

Before 6pm, a call came from Fien's mom, they were already in the church for the practice. "Bring some bread..." It's a long drive from Stony Creek. I brought instant noodles for Mrs. Mendoza who was obviously tired and just finished work. Stuff like this made me so guilty but these are the people that made the community strong- being a trouper. The Cerezos were also already there.

The practice went well with substitutes for Sammy Gavin, Cassandra Soares and Jonnah Sagarino. It was fun as Mariz, Teresa and Mabel played the absentees in one condition: no FB posting of the catwalk. Of course...

Everyone looked expressively pale to me after we were done. "Are you guys hungry?" You knew it well even if the response is a smile. There were 9 of us all hungry and exhausted. A late evening birthday invitation was in queue supposedly after the practice. A group of very closed relatives and friends were also waiting for me to sleep over at their camping site closed to Casino Rama. I was completely retarded to be saying yes. I did want to drive there because it's summer and I want to kick up my summer activities horrendously tight. It all failed...I hope the ones in Bowmanville understands the squeeze and keep inviting friends for the concert and show our priests from CDO that we have a big heart! For the ones in the Camping site, I hope I won't get stabbed with a sizzling marshmallow on a stick.

I cannot tag along with me all these people who never know the host so we decided to go to a restaurant instead. The Tangerine Restaurant by Taunton and Brook was jammed with so many patrons we needed to sit in two separate tables. I was trying to reach out to someone on my cell to relay a message to the Host in Bowmanville that I won't be able to make it anymore. No response...

It was almost 10pm when we finished a good dinner. The foods were great and the bill was paid for by a silent birthday celebrant. One unfortunately got her fortune cooky without an inspiring quote. I heard somebody said, "Did you not ate it?"

The picture showed how wonderful these people are...Happy birthday Mr. Mendoza!
