The official music video of one of my original music compositions (which was written in Tagalog and translated in English) by Toronto singer, Chyrell Samson and which music was created and produced by her husband Rodney Ronquillo, DREAM was filmed in Niagara Falls and nearby areas in the late autumn months in 2017. We let it simmer.

Today, I received the final edited version of the music video and I think it's superbly done by Vladimir Reyes of R&R Digital Media Solutions who shoot the video. Vladimir Reyes captured the beauty of Niagara Falls that perfectly complimented the powerful voice of Liza Silagan, a professional singer way back in the Philippines. Liza Silagan travelled overseas as leader of the band before it dismantled and Liza Silagan pursued her overseas dreams.

A gifted singer, who in her high school years, became consistent champion at their school and on regional music competitions in Panabo, Davao City, Philippines. She was honed by their school's music teacher in order to prepare her in every competition where she represented her school and continually brought home the trophy. Losing her father at an early age, she and her older siblings sold delicacies they cook,  on the streets on the wee hours of the mornings,  and then came home to get ready for school.
Liza Silagan was supported by older sister Elsie, who did everything for Liza to continue her love of music.

Their immense poverty made Liza strong as she continued to travel to perform with her band until she got married and have children. It killed her dreams to elevate her status as a singer. When she finally land a job in Canada as a Caregiver, she tried to meet the new challenges in her life shelving off her passion for singing. Occasionally, she'll perform on small community gatherings. Inborn singers, despite the odds, will always find some means to let out their passion. Those rare performances garnered her a name; Niagara Region's Diva. Liza Silagan lives in Niagara Region where  the world's most beautiful Falls is nestled- the Niagara Falls.. Liza's singing dreams slowly faded away until one day she find herself participating on a beauty pageant by Toronto's Caregiver Advocate group- the Filcore Group. On the final night of the competition, Liza Silagan performed a song for her talent portion.

Rodney Ronquillo created/produced the music, DREAM. Chyrell Samson on English translation and voice guide.

I was seated in the audience to capture the event for  my blogs and as I peek on my camera, I knew I was capturing a professional singer. The vocals punches hard on the walls of the theatre and the scream from the audience felt like we found an emerging singer. Liza Silagan won second on that competition. As soon as I got home that night, I posted that video showcasing Liza Silagan.

Months had passed and I was asked to write a song for a movie project named "Mangarap Ka" by its producer Judith Gonzales. "Mangarap Ka" is a series of true-to-life stories of foreign workers. I wrote the song in Tagalog and then we decided to have it in English so it was translated from Tagalog to English version. Judith Gonzales conferred about who is best to interpret the song and I quickly told her Liza Silagan is more fitting for the song.

The Lyricist and Liza Silagan- A perfect collaboration

Rodney Ronquillo, a Toronto singer/composer and piano man created the track for the song. Liza Silagan recorded it and Judith Gonzales was given a cinematic version for the soundtrack of the film. It came out beautifully as I am a Caregiver myself so the core and fabric of the lyrics were taken from my very own actual emotions as a foreign worker dreaming once and finally make it.

Here is the video, please watch, like, comment and share.  Please subscribe to my channel if you are a Youtuber as well. This music video manifest the kind of singer Liza Silagan is; mature and  passionate.  Liza is easy to get along with and works wonderfully in collab with our Videographer Vladimir Reyes who captured the beauty of a performer and the wondrous landscapes of Niagara Falls.

I would commend Vladimir Reyes for a job well done in making this music video and to the artist herself, Liza Silagan. Please share this video and inspire others. This is proof that dreams are the foundation of our personal struggles and eventually made it.

You also need to watch the films "Mangarap Ka" in theatre this March 3, 2018 at Toronto Centre for the Arts. This song blends perfectly to each story that will grip your heart, "Forced To Let Go." and "Devotion."
